I have found recently with an update from Zoom that there is a glitch with the audio when an individual joins. It may show in the lower left hand corner that you are Unmuted when you joing, but you are actually muted. Just click on the microphone icon twice to toggle your microphone off and then back on.

Ho Do I Change The Video Layout – You have three choices to view other individuals when joining a Zoom meeting – Active Speaker, Gallery and Mini. My personal preference is Gallery so that I can see all participants.
